FireWalls

What: A firewall is software that helps
prevent hackers, viruses and worms
from accessing your computer over the
Internet. Firewalls do not detect or
disable computer viruses and worms if
they are already on your computer. For
that reason, you should also install anti-
virus and anti-spyware software and
keep them updated to help prevent
viruses, worms and other security
threats.
Why: Hackers can gain access to
personal information or install code that
destroys files or causes malfunctions, or
they can turn your computer into a
“zombie.” This happens when a hacker
takes over your computer and uses it to
attack other computers.
How: The firewall within Windows
monitors all incoming and outgoing
information within your Internet
connection, and helps prevent
unsolicited incoming “traffic” from
reaching your computer.
Firewalls temporarily open doors, or
“ports,” on your computer to receive
traffic that you have requested, such as a
Web page.
Where: Windows XP SP2 includes a
built-in firewall, which is turned on by
default. Windows Vista will includes a
built-in firewall that will help protect you
from both incoming and outgoing viruses
and worms. A two-way firewall  provides
functionality to help keep the bad stuff out
and the good stuff in.
That outbound protection can help
prevent malware or malicious programs
from sending information out from your
computer without you knowing.
We Fix Broken Computers!!!
Our Services Home
Users
Networking
We will design, install or troubleshoot your home's local area network.
Since most homes' walls are already constructed, we recommend installing
a wireless network instead of a wired network. We recommend the Linksys
brand of wireless products as they incorporate all the latest connectivity and
security technology.

Software
We will install and configure your software products on your PC(s).

PC TuneUp
Tune up your entire system, clean up clutter, and fix hard drive errors for
better speed and reliability. Almost every operation in Windows requires read
or write access to the Windows Registry.  Because the Windows Registry is
the most frequently accessed component of the entire Windows operating
system, it is prone to damage if not maintained properly and frequently. If
your PC is suffering from stability or performance issues, the root causes
may lie with the Windows Registry.
There are instances where a backup of
all data (documents, photos, etc.) then a reformat and reinstall of your
operating system and programs is the BEST option.
Backed up data will
be restored thereafter..

Hardware
We no longer build PCs from parts due to the very low cost of off-the-shelf
PCs from national manufacturers (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc). However, we do
upgrade such PCs as necessary (memory, video graphics adapter, power
supplies, etc.).  We do replace motherboards that have gone bad, utilizing
existing parts where possible.

Hard Drive Services
1 : Clone Hard Drive : We will duplicate your current hard drive onto a new
hard drive of the same size or larger.
2 : Add 2nd Hard Drive : We will install a second hard drive in your PC.

Data Transfer—We will transfer your data from 1 PC to another PC as well
as setup a backup strategy.
